Planning Research Conference 2018

Welcome to Sheffield!

The Planning Research Conference comes to Sheffield from the 3-5 September 2018. The conference offers a chance for international researchers, students, and practitioners to share work and discuss key themes and trends in planning. Delegates will have the opportunity to present papers, participate in roundtable discussions, attend keynote talks, and network with researchers from around the world. The conference will also reflect the city of Sheffield, enabling delegates not only to see the city and its iconic industrial heritage, but also learn about work happening here to plan for better places and communities.

The theme of the conference is ‘Alternative Futures for Planning’, representing our desire to promote debate about how research and practice might envision better ways of planning to meet the complex needs of our cities, regions, and nations.

The conference is organised by the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield in collaboration with the Department of the Natural and Built Environment at Sheffield Hallam University.
